Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
I'll try never again to slag our injury prone players off again!! Woke up Friday morning with what seriously felt like a broken foot! Sole of the foot absolute agony and haven't been able to walk properly since. Bizarre thing is I was absolutely fine Thursday night. No trips, falls or slips and haven't been pounding the roads like Seb Coe - In fact I don't pound the roads at all unless it's running between the cars to reach Greggs!! The only thing I can think of is I might have had the self standing fan blowing away over night aimed at my feet but that wouldn't have rendered me as useless as Andy Carroll for four days and it's not serious enough for a trip to A and E and our Doctors has a waiting list on appointments till 2024!

So furnish me with your most bizarre and unexplained injuries so I can feel a little less like the only one with a post 50 year old body falling apart!!!

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
I had a very similar experience a few years back. I woke up and my foot was in agony, couldn't put any weight on it. I thought it was an attack of gout.

It cleared up after a few hours and turned out to be an allergic reaction to an insect bite.

Interestingly Alfs that actually happens to me. Insect bite on golf course the whole leg itches and hurts like hell and takes weeks to clear up, but for some bizarre reason it only happens to my left leg, not the right and on this occasion no insect bite!!!

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
Could just be a spasm, they can be extremely painful and come and go suddenly.

I suffered a torn arsehole (aka an anal fissure) once after shitting out an enormous Thai red curry. Truly horrific

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
My current one.
Thought it was just a stiff shoulder from sleeping in a funny position. This was 5 weeks ago. Got progressively worse, very painful to the point of not being able to work last week.
After 2 visits to the docs and a scan it looks like Tendinitis (inflamed tendons) No recollection of doing it?

bruuuno 8:29 Mon Jul 22
Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
Tendinitis can happen due to repeated movements, it doesn’t have to be a single incident

Yeh they did say that, struggling to think of any though.

Wanking?

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
Some injuries to the sole of the foot are often because of tying shoe laces too tight. Usually on trainers if you are running
Try loosening up , maaaan

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
Bloody painful, dislocated my other shoulder years ago and the pain has been worse than the recovery after the op for that.

Apparently it will clear up on it's own in 6 weeks - 3 months.

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
Snapped bicep tendon (bicep pinged up Into my armpit)

ACL, pcl and lateral collateral knee ligaments all snapped in one tackle

Went for a jog, tore left calf muscle.
1 year later
Went for a jog, tore right calf muscle.

Had a 6 week back injury once that I somehow got driving home (normal traffic, no incidents)

Currently in a sling as I tore my tricep yesterday (same arm as bicep tendon snap)

This to name but a few.
I'm basically made out of balsor wood. And I'm still more durable than fucking andy carroll

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
I got kicked on the shin a few times and my knee gave way, despite being a long way from the point of contact. Out for a few weeks and extremely annoyed at the bloke who did it, in a match between colleagues.

Not very bizarre, but the most bizarre that's happened to me.

Twisted testicle when I was 14. Absolute agony, ended up going to hospital to have an op to sort it.
Dislocated my kneecap on a West Ham riverboat cruise when I was 18, think it was down to Chicken Ron (in costume!) just accidentally giving my knee a bump at an inopportune moment. Got stretchered off the boat at Westminster...

Re: Your most bizarre or unexplained injury?
Three years I was thinking about going skiiing for the first time in a decade so booked a three hour session for my son and I largely to see if had forgotten how to do it.
No need to worry as I got it back instantly and by the end were having slalom races, doing 360 slide turns etc.
After a fun three hours we decided to go to the bar there. Sadly I forgot wet ski boots and lino are not a happy combination - my feet went out from under me walking to bar and I fell with a crack.
Knew something was wrong as my arm was numb and could hardly flex.
Stupidly I drove home (to Sussex) and by the end of the journey was in agony - to top the journey off I got scraped by a truck on the M1 (his fault thankfully).
Got home just and sat down in the ketchen to relax and was prodding my arm pondering getting to A&E and suddenly felt faint so decided to try and make it to bed but never did.
Came round flat on my back with my son standing over me holding the phone.
"Dad, the ambulance lady wants to speak to you."

Final score:
Fractured right radius head and elbow (original injury).
Three fractured ribs and cracked metacarpal - left hand (fainting at home).

I have had better days.
